‘He was a right c***’: Cash Converters win at reference letters

Funny – but wholly inappropriate for a reference letter. Since the manager’s signature is visible, I’m sure s/he will be having words with directors, who may in turn give him/her a reference of their own…

Warning: explicit language (but also hilarity) below

A man who requested a reference from his former employer was so impressed with the resulting document that he framed it.

The ex-employee, identified only as Ryan, contacted the Ashmore branch of Cash Converters in Australia to ask for a reference – and the response was hilarious.

Addressed ‘to whom it may concern’, the reference describes with brutal honesty Ryan’s contribution to the pawnbroking franchise.

‘Ryan proved himself useless in a wide variety of tasks,’ the document reads.

The Top Programming Languages, Ranked by Job Demand, Popularity, More

Apparently, the most sought after language is Java. Not that surprising considering it powers quite a few things, including Android and anything running Android (well, to a point, I guess since it doesn’t run Java in the same way that you would run the JVM on, say, your desktop.) Still, gives me a reason to brush up on it. And perhaps work towards a Java certification. I did have J2CP, but that was years ago, so I’m not sure if it is even valid any more.

5 Myths about Introverts and Extraverts at Work | LinkedIn

A really nice article about Intro and Extraverts. My favourite quote:

General Charles Krulak, the former commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, introduced himself to me as an introvert too. When Krulak took over as the CEO of a bank, he sat down with his vice presidents and said, “Everyone around this table has forgotten more about banking than I know. And because of that, I’m going to need and seek your advice. I may not always agree with you, and if I don’t, I’ll let you know why. If you get to a point where you don’t feel you can come to me, I’ve failed as a leader.”
