Composers have a tendency to make you jump.
Stravinsky’s Firebird has a slow, peaceful opening, then a really sudden BOOM. Evidently, a woman dozed off during this bit and got a fright.
Disney also took this piece and added it their Fantasia 2000 sequence, and it looked brilliant. (L’oiseau de feu literally means “The Bird of Fire”)
Good to see Final Fantasy music up there with the hard hitters such as Rachmaninov, Elgar, Beethoven and Mozart

I have always been a big fan of piano music, especially solo piano. Yiruma, Einaudi and then I heard this on Classic FM. If I ever learn to play the piano with any decent skill, this is one piece I’m definitely going to have on my list to learn how to play.
A forest. In Japan. A wooden xylophone. Playing Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, using only a wooden ball… and gravity.
I’m an avid classical music listener, but I’m not quite sure what to make of this…. o.O
