#Yes, running on Christmas Day. A shortish one. It was pretty dead in my local village, with pretty much all the shops closed except for the Fruit + Veg store.
Have a great Christmas Day, everyone ! :)

First time road-running 5km for a while, and did drop to a walk a few times, especially going up the hill.
Average pace 06:28min/km, and Strava says I’m gradually getting faster on this route (which is good)
One-lap run around my park. Nothing major.
First run for a long while – decided to push and go for the 5k I had been leaving for a long while
Made it in 30mins near enough on the dot. Strava tracking 5.03km in 29.57 with an average pace of 5:57min/km
Easy run today, made it to about 3k
12 minute fitness test today. According to Endomondo, I made 2.16 km.
Intervals run today – I decided to try walking the beginning and end since the target pace was just under 8mins but I struggled to find a good speed, since 8min/km is too fast for my walk pace and too slow for my jog pace
Reset my Endomondo plan to reflect updated pace. Today’s run was a 3.8km run. Got to about 3km then dropped to a walk, but kept a pretty consistent pace until then.
Straight walk 3.3k
Straight walk for 3k. Was actually 3.3k, but Endomondo tracked 3.3k before my Fitbit did.
Run/walk 4 intervals at 2min/1min times
No scheduled run today, so just did a straight run and one lap of my local park.
6 intervals today, back to running for each of the fast-walk intervals
Changed the run schedule a bit in @endomondo – Wednesday I’m normally late due to office stuff and Friday… well, Happy Hour ^_^
So next run is now Sunday with a 4x 2min run/1min walk interval.
8 intervals today with two short ones (and that threw me a bit)
Spotted a sign from the local council on a lamp post on the run near the end – apparently, they’d found 2 dead fox cubs with no injuries, implying they had been poisoned, which is in violation of a Wildife Act or something along those lines.
Then on the lamp post opposite “Dog Owners, don’t let your dogs poop on the pavement, clean up after them. You know who you are”
Someone hates animals it seems…
Missed a run due to heavy rain.
First day training back with @endomondo – more a walk today, but I ran a bit during the “fast-walk” intervals.
I used Endomondo for the voice prompts, but tracked the main workout with my fitbit. This led to my graph being a bit out of sync with the workout graph…
Next run is on Thursday. Well, it’s a walk rather than run…. But start slow, and build up, I guess
I had my cousin and his girlfriend over here in the UK for a couple of days for his graduation ceremony – something, no-one mentioned in advance so I ended up having to take a couple of days out of the office and working from home. Several long days later, and my lack of sleep was catching up with me, along with the 30 deg C heat wasn’t helping. They booked out of Gatwick rather than heathrow, meaning the trip to the airport took 1.5 hours instead of 1 hour. And meant I pretty much did an entire lap of the M25 in the process (about 75 miles there and 75 miles back, though I drove 80 miles there instead because the M25 was closed one way, so I had to turn back).
They picked an early flight, which meant we had to try to get there for about 7am, meaning we had to leave at 5am, which in turn meant a 4am get up so they could shower, finish packing and get into the car.
I was back home by 8:15, even stopping off at my local supermarket to pick up some bottled water - although the supermarket wasn’t open due to it being a Sunday, so I picked it up from a local Tesco petrol station instead (15p more expensive than a Tesco supermarket)
I was pretty tired for most of the day, so did washing, ironing, and then went to bed at 6pm – yeah, never went to bed that early before, but here’s FitBit to prove it. 12 hours in bed, 9.5 hours asleep.
Also, during my cousins visit, I took him around different food places. Now I know people like food pictures (aka food porn), here’s a couple of the pics

After being out of training for a long while due to illness, I decided to fork out on Fitbit Coach and start using some of their workouts.
Today I decided to go out and try their walking workouts – an audio-driven workout around power walking
I’ve spent a long time using Nike+, their Fuel Band and then their GPS Sportswatch, but now, it’s time to end that relationship.
I’ve recently had immense trouble connecting to their servers via their app and uninstalling, reinstalling even clearing the cache doesn’t help. Tethering my phone and accessing the site itself from my laptop gave me the same error, even on Incognito/Private mode.
Nike and Three (my MNO) bounced me back and worth between each other – both blaming the other. Nike saying it was an MNO problem, and Three saying it was Nike’s servers, and that they were able to replicate my issue on multiple devices on different networks. Neither accepting responsibility.
Since Nike+ is the only fitness activity tracking site having this problem (Fitbit, for example, does not have any issues), I am now ditching using Nike+.
In other news, I got this badge from Fitbit – the Africa Badge, for walking 8,046 km - the length of Africa.
I reached a lifetime climb of 28,000 floors and earned the Astronaut badge today with Fitbit! www.fitbit.com/user/2359… #Fitstats
I’ve finished copying my files over onto my Debian installation and I just now need to reconfigure everything. My Fitbit is now syncing in Debian happily. BOINC is installed (but not configured) and I’ve installed LXDE so I can take off KDE.
And DRM finally works!
