Grey and raining again, went a diferent route but still not as far as my normal walk, back to route-hunting again....
grey and raining. Luckily it didn't rain during my walk. Decided to do a lap in the park -- didn't want to risk going to far out in case I get caught in any sudden downpours.
Different route, and ended up a shorter distance. Gotta find a different route tomorrow.
Day 160 in quarantine. Jeez.... can't believe it's got to that many days so far.....
Warm day again, and replaced one of my valve caps on my car -- one of the caps had gone mission/stolen and I only found out when I went to top up the air pressure of my tyres.
Affinity Water contacted me over twitter to ask about my previous reports of water problems. They confirmed there was an issue in my area and that had been resolved (which agrees with my observations).
Later walk, and comfortable temperature.
Later walk today, cooler and slower. Did my early Saturday morning shopping and I was on call, and got an incident call while in the middle of Tesco. Had to escalate the incident up to my boss since I wasn't able to check it for at least an hour. :(
Cooler day today. And found that my shoes had a squashed berry and some stones stuck to it. I have no idea where I got them from, used a broken off twig to pry some of if off.
Cooler day, and ran part of the way around. Not fun being on call :(
Slightly cooler day than yesterday, but still pretty warm. A quick walk gave me some sweat but nothing too much.
The water in my house is not as cloudy now as was yesterday -- whatever Affinity Water was doing, probably has now cleared.
A sweltering hot day today. And some weirdness with our water supply today. It stopped, started, went brown, then cleared, but was much more cloudy than expected. Can see around 4 different pieces of work being done by Affinity Water in my area with the description "Relay Short Service Pipe" and with "Urgent" on one of them. So possibly that's related to what we're experiencing.
A hot day, slower walk, sweaty return.
Sunny day, not much wind, so a t-shirt-and-shorts weather walk
Late walk today, windy but after a few kms again, it was not noticeable.
Slightly cooler today, a bit windy but after a few kms walking, it wasn't noticeable any more.
A nice hot sunny day, t-shirt and shorts walking weather.
Back to mid-20s today so a t-shirt walk.
Comfortable walking today. Cloudy but not raining.
The Tesco Express I always walk past has now closed until November. Not sure if its for construction or something more serious....
Went a different route for a change and added an extra km onto the distance. Grey skies but no rain
Decided to test the time it takes to walk from the prospective new house to the nearest Piccadilly Line station and see if that's any different to walking to the nearest rail station.
Turns out it takes 15 minutes using two different walking routes to get there, which is about the same time it takes to get to the rail station. The only difference is that the rail station is in Zone 4 and the underground station is in Zone 5.
A single from the Zone 5 station costs £4.70 peak, £3.10 off peak.
A single from the Zone 4 rail station costs £6.00 peak, £4,70 off peak -- so it costs MORE to start my journey FURTHER into London. So why do I do it?
Well, if I cap the journey for the week, I pay a 1-4 weekly travelcard, and not a 1-5 weekly travelcard. Plus, the daily cap for a 1-4 is £10.40, and I'll hit that with two journeys, versus the 1-5 cap of £12.30
Decided to test the time and distance of walking from my local train station to the (potentially) new house, then walk back. Total distance for the loop was 3km, which about the same distance as my normal short walking loop, so that's okay.
Back to being colder and grey again. Short lap, didn't get caught in any rain this time.
Back to being colder and grey again. Short lap, and drizzling all the way.
Decided to go a different route today, to go past a house I might be buying.
Slightly narrow roads, and a lot quieter, but means less likelihood of my car getting wrecked, since there's also a parking area in front of the house. Someone would _really_ have to try to wreck my car using that setup -- they would have to go through a brick wall and other cars to wreck my car with this setup. Also, since this is a house not a flat, I could potentially get a plugin hybrid or full electric in future and get a charge point installed for around £500. But that's assuming my Yaris gets wrecked, which hopefully it won't anytime soon.... :)
Day 140 in quarantine. Wow...
Later walk than normal, but still comfortable walking weather, no rain, not too much wind, a bit colder than it's been though.
Another grey and rainy day. Found out that even though I didn't renew my FitBit Premium subscription, some videos on the FitBit app are free to view, so I checked out one of their abs and core videos. At only 15 minutes it wasn't long, so I thought "oh, it can't be effective then"
My abs and core begged to differ with me afterwards...
