Training in Quarantine - Day 99
#Another 20-ish degC day today, a bit breezy but decided to do the long 1 hr walk.
Another 20-ish degC day today, a bit breezy but decided to do the long 1 hr walk.
A cool-ish day today, temp at 20degC so did my walk. The pubs were open again, so saw most of them in use. Even the local Wetherspoons was now open.
Barbers were open too. And pretty much all of them were packed except for the smallest one which only had a few customers. The nearest barber to me was only accepting appointments anyway.
Went for a mini-run today. Did my short walk, but decided to walk-run it today and went past the balloons house. Found out the name of the person was "Victoria"
Mixed weather day, some rain, but now its 20degC. Done my FitBit workout, will be heading out for walk soon.
Got caught in the rain, and had to sprint back -- still that's good exercise.
Someone asked me where the station was -- which was a 30 minute walk unless you get the bus to cut part of the journey time. They chose not to get the bus and continued walking -- in the rain too. And without an umbrella...
Found this in a nearby road:
A bit of digging round, and I found the reason:
A 41-year-old woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a 13-year-old girl was knocked down and killed in north London.
Police said the car struck the victim and a 15-year-old girl in Barnet, north London at 9.35pm on Monday.
Scotland Yard confirmed the 15-year-old was uninjured but suffered shock witnessing the collision.
Looking at the location of the flowers, it is near the end of the road, which leads to a miniroundabout. The road, especially at night, is pretty empty and prone to fast drivers (regularly, we hear cars and motorbikes revving late at night), so my suspicion is that someone drove fast down the road, heading towards the miniroundabout, couldn't stop in time and hit the 13-year-old square, and missed the the 15-year old.
Muscles are still hurting from yesterday, so I'll skip my FitBit workout and just walk. There was rain earlier, but it's okay for now....
The temperature was also a lot warmer than the past two or so (very wet) days.
Another cloudy, slightly rainy day. FitBit workout for core and legs and my stomach muscles are screaming at me right now.
Going to take my chances and go for a walk in about 15 mins and see if I get soaked with rain or not.
Cooler today, so did my FitBit workout then went for my walk to cool down.
No walk today -- been raining on-off, so did my first FitBit workout in a while.
Did my FitBit workout today, using my Chromecast Ultra. My Sky Broadband router seems very tetchy today and twice dropped my WiFi connection while my phone was casting to my TV, meaning I had to reconnect and recast both times.
And went ahead and did my 1 hour walk.
Longer walk today, and somehow managed to trip 5km distance, but looking at the GPS, looks like it messed up and didn't track properly, showing me literally flying over houses....
Pollen count seems to be high today, got back and my eyes started itching.
Didn't do the workout -- my walk was later than expected due to us watching over a neighbour's son while they move their things into several van loads (they were moving out, but only a few minutes up the road)
Another nice day. Did the longer walk, but tried a different route. Seems a bit shorter than my usual one, so probably will keep the old route
Another nice hot day. And a nice walk in the sun. It is starting to look like I might be picking up a bit of a tan from my walking in the sun....
Did my FitBit workout before my walk, next workout is Back & Core.
Another nice sunny hot day. A breeze made it a bit more tolerable.
Another nice and hot, sunny day. Short walk, lots of pollen and moderately sweaty as a result.
Day 61 of quarantine. A cloudy day, but still pretty warm. Short loop walk today.
Each day is beginning to melt into each other. So this is what prison feels like....
Day 60 of quarantine. Finally got an opportunity to test my new Chromecast Ultra with my FitBit coach in my living room. There was more room here to do the workout versus my bedroom and shed plenty more sweat than I normally do doing the workout in my bedroom.
Weather is still plenty windy and the temperature is much lower than the past couple of days...
Trying to decide whether to do my walk later....
EDIT: I did.
Nearing day 60 in quarantine. Today was a very window, cloudy start to the day. My bedroom door in fact slammed closed at 3am in the morning from the gust of wind that came through the open window.
My final car cheque FINALLY came through. Guess this now means I have to give up the car within 7 days. Which is a bugger because now I'll have to get the bus to the car showroom in June.
Regards to training, I did my walk and am currently contemplating whether to do my FitBit workout today or tomorrow....
Update on my car. They say the final cheque is in the post, and now they will be contacting me to arrange to pick up the car.
But I haven't been able to buy a new car because all the showrooms were locked down. I asked them to reconsider.
Meanwhile, another hot day so I did the walk and not the workout, also probably not a good idea to do a workout so soon after eating lots of pizza ^_^
Did my FitBit workout today. Trying to workout in 25degC heat isn't fun, but I did it with my windows open and a fan blowing in my face.
And, I did my walk to boot. Again the shorter walk due to being on call. My pace was notably slower than usual during the walk due to the heat. But as a result, wasn't sweating as much as I was expecting. Still was, though ^_^
Same as yesterday, a scorcher of a day, so a quick walk in case I got an incident call.
Scorcher of a day today and I start my week of on call :(
Did my short walk and felt like I'd been walking for an hour because of the heat....
Same as yesterday, didn't want to risk being too sweaty without having access to a shower.
We got someone in the check the drains, we even got a rod thingy to help unblock it. Turns out part of the steel pipe in the house was rusted and some of the outbound water was getting blocked by the rust.
Walk but no Fitbit workout -- my shower drains have blocked up so I'm avoiding making myself sweat too much as I'm unable to clean myself properly until I can get that drain unblocked.
No FitBit workout today, but did my long walk. Tomorrow is a non-working day for me, so will use that day to do my FitBit workout, study and do some side projects. Oh, and shopping too....
FitBit workout today -- Legs, Arms Shoulders. Sweaty workout, but not too sweaty.
Went and did my 3k walk afterwards too.
Next workout is "Total Body"
